Sonshine Fest

There were more divine appointments with people  and opportunities to encourage. One was with a girl already planning to do DTS in Hawaii this fall who happened to be a fellow Manitoban. I was totally able to relate with her background and where she was coming from and her struggles, but having been through it myself, I could share what God has done in my life and how life-changing the whole experience of YWAM has been. She left excited and ready to keep stepping out in obedience in what God was calling her to despite the surrounding circumstances.
Just one more festival in Washington and mobile team comes to an end. I'm really going to miss this little family that has emerged from our group and even the other vendors that have joined the family along the way.

Billy

Met a guy named Billy yesterday who was an amazing testimony of God's goodness. He grew up With half his family Jehova's Witnesses and the Other half atheists. He is the first Christian in his family line! One day while running he jumped over 4 feet of thorns onto a rock and broke his foot.

He couldn't get to the hospital because the guy who takes care of giving rides already had another student at the hospital. One of his buddies came and prayed a simple prayer and it was healed immediately. Now he wants to become a pastor and is getting ready for seminary!

God will do the extraordinary to being his kids home!

More to come, just way to tired to type anymore!

BYE!

What I've learned about Leadership.

There is a sense of Peace in my heart as to what God is doing here on the team.
There have been some challenges but God is always the one to remind us he is bigger than a problem or a worry.
We are excited to be going to Sonshine Music Festival tomorrow. It's crazy to think that in less than two weeks we will be back in Denver and this whole thing will be over!

I have learned 7 key ingredients to creating a Powerful Unified Team.

1) It takes clear vision and ONE person to be designated as someone with final say. Everyone is a Leader but there is a need for that Positional Leader.
2) It takes vision from God and a unified connection through personal and corporate prayer and worship
3) It takes being submissive to another, for whats best for the team.
4) It takes true SERVANT Leadership, a leader that comes through the bottom and not the top.
5)It takes availability and sensitivity to God
6) It takes an atmosphere of thankfulness and encouragement
7) If everyone is humble the whole group prospers,
You are only as strong as the weakest person on your team.

I have Loved being here because I get the front seat at learning what makes and breaks a Leader, so that when I get the opportunity to lead a group I will be able to implement healthy tools to keep the group unified.

LEADERSHIP AS A ROPE
The power of unity is a rope with many fibers. The thicker the rope (The more people running the same direction) the thicker and more durable it is under pressure. If the rope if frayed it won't last under the harder conditions. The same goes with a team.

Stay tuned for more updates!!

Andrew and the 2011 Mobile War Team.

JULY 8TH! READ ME.

What can I say about Mobile Team and this opportunity, besides how amazing it is?
I am having such a great time.
God is moving like crazy.
This is by far my favorite festival so far.

So everyday we have like 1,000 people ask, what is YWAM? Who are you? What do you do?
From that I have come to this. At YWAM we train missionaries, and the best way to do that is, To know God in a real way allowing yourself to be in place where his Identity can transform your life and make you more like him.

I mean isn't it beautiful and SIMPLE?

Get to know him, get where he is, and watch what happens, JUST SHOW UP!

God gave me a word this year to speak out and that is "JUMP IN!" It's okay. You are safe in his arms, he will pick you back up if you fall!

It's time for all of us to get out of our comfort zones, whatever that looks like! It's important to do it.
Are you uncomfortable sitting in his presence for an hour in silence "Waiting" on him, let's do it and see what happens. Are you uncomfortable to go to worship with inmates on Death Row in Uganda? Let's do it and see what happens.

Perfect Love (Jesus) casts out all Fear. If you have fear in your life, don't find it unreasonable that God might cast it out to grow you, to draw you back to him!

Way Random, but just thoughts on paper!

Chicago

We've had a really awesome time here in Chicago. I was really excited to visit my buddy Garrett from DTS and spend some good quality BRO TIME! It's so refreshing to be able to pick up right where you left off!

We all went down to Navy Pier last night. We parked at a church and took the bus downtown. While on the bus, we talked to a few people and prayed for a lady who asked us for prayer!

We met new friends, and saw an amazing fireworks show that was synchronized with music!

Tomorrow we will be going to Oshkosh, Wi for LifeFest!

We are excited for what's in store.

Thank you all for following our blog, we will keep you updated as we go.

Love,
Andrew

"I onceeee was blind, but nowwwww I see."

The girl working in the booth next to us came in this morning without her normal 4 inch thick glasses on. We asked her where her glasses went, thinking she had lost them, she responded: "I went to the healing tent last night, got prayer and now I don't need them." (She was legally blind in her left eye)

BOOM!

One of the things God is showing me today is walking in obedience and availabilty but even more walking in relationship. When I'm about to text someone and he says call, because they need someone to talk to, or when I'm busy at my booth striving and God says help the girl next to you pass out business cards and promote her ministry!... Stuff I'd never think of, it blows my mind, the ready and available Spirit of God and his leading. His first name is Holy.

"Wanna come sign up to win a free iPad?" I ask a guy as he walks by.  His response, "No, not really." Pause. "Wanna be a missionary??"  "Actually, yes I do."
He proceeded to tell me that he has loved China since he was a little kid. He has studied and learned everything he can about the country, and even learned mandarin fluently. Just a year ago though, he became a christian and now wants to go do missions in China.
I think it's so cool how God puts passions in our hearts before we even understand why they're there or what we are to do about it. And in the end it works out for His glory and His purpose and it's greater than we could've ever imagined ourselves.
Peace.
There's nothing like going through a hot 107 degrees day to end it with a divine appointment. I was able to pray for a girl named Kailyn and speak over her and God confirmed a painting she had drawn as a prophecy spoken over her. Tears ran down her face as we stood and prayed and battled with her. Her life will never be the same, all because God showed up and loved on her. I love trusting God now to bring people to our booth!
